Shelled object with hole in bottom?

Hi all,

I'm designing some pieces with the intent of 3D printing them.

I'm planning on "hollowing out" larger pieces (this one is about 10cm long) but am having a rough time figuring out how to remove the "bottom" and shelling the rest.

In this image you can see what I'd like to remove from the bottom, and then. As F360 doesn't let me remove just the bottom, or bottom face, I'm not sure how to do this.

Ideally, I'd have clicked on the whole bottom & deleted, then shelled the rest, but can't find a way to do that.

Any help appreciated...

when you run the shell command, instead of picking the body, pick that bottom face.  if your wanting to remove just a section of the bottom face (represented by the sketch?), then split the face with the sketch, and select that face when you run the command.

easier to show with a supplied model.
