Hi

Just want to know if it´s possible to flatten sheet metal in Fusion 360 so curved sheets may be fitted edge to edge?

Attached a STEP file with 5 plates that shoud fit.

Best regards

No, Fusion 360 does not have sheet metal tools.

We just finished sheet metal topic in my class.

Fusion proved unsuitable for college level instruction involving sheet metal fabrication.

You did not indicate what k-factor or bend allowance to use for these parts.

The ends and front and back are same - so I only flattened one of each.

I used Autodesk Inventor to get these flat patterns.

Students can download Inventor for free from http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity

Not yet, but it'll be out of closed beta in due time.

The stuff in this thread was dome with sheet metal tools.

Not yet,

My students (or their parents) do not pay significant tuition for "not yet".

We have professional tools that cover the competencies that our employers and board of advisers recommend.

Your students or their parents aren't paying for the software tools they are privileged to use either.

If you need to but you pay for your own tools you'll have to weigh if you need right now want is "not yet" available and it it's worth the asking price or if you can wait a little longer.

Hi,

and thanks for Your answer and the flattened files.

For some reason Fusion doesn´t allow me to put radius dimension on the round edges...?

Not that it´s needed in a case like this when the part would be cut out from the outer lines,
but still don´t understand why I cant dimension the edges.

A curve can only have a circular arc edge in the bent form (projected) or in the flat form, not both.
