Sheet metal part

I'm creating a cardboard leg with the sheet metal tools but can't work out how to make the part then still be able to unfold it. I have created the flange model larger than I need to so I can cut sections away to get the shape that I require. However, after I cut the top of the seat shape, I do something that stops the part being able to unfold?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Several issues here.

None of your sketches are fully defined?

I would probably model in finished form.

If I used Unfold/Refold, I would probably only do this once.

The file that you Attached in fact does Unfold at current state (be sure to select Unfold all bends).

Extrude1 is not needed.

Can you model the part as close as possible to Design Intent using standard tools - then I can see where you are going with this and suggest a technique using the Sheet Metal tools.

Hi,

Thanks so much for your speedy reply! I'm a little confused as to why this didn't unfold when I tried as I did exactly the same method, but I've tried again this morning and it's fine? The drawing was a quick test, hence the under defined sketches. I had tried a few different methods to achieve the shape I wanted and this was a quick effort at the end of a few attempts.

I will model the chair fully today with conventional tools and send you the file.

Thanks again for your support!

Hi again,

This is how I'd like the finished cardboard stool.
