sheet metal creating flages that follow a profile at an angle

I'm trying to create a transition between two sheet metal parts. One is vertical the other is at a small angle from horizontal. the joining duct follows one edge at 45 deg to the vertical part and the bends have to match the cut-out on the vertical part. I can only get the path by trial and error.

Is there an easy way to get the bends to follow the part of the cut-out in the vertical part?

I have also noticed that when I trim the part I can't add flanges on the cut edges. I was going to try to use the bend command and trim after to solve this but maybe there is another solution to get flanges off the cut edges?

I found a solution creating planes normal to the edges I want to follow.
