Sheet metal bending

Good day,

 

I am looking to make a one piece bended part as you can see in bend1 and bend2 attachments. The problem is that the only way I managed to do it for now was creating new bodies "half loops" and this way you can not see those bodies in flat pattern. While I need a one sheet metal body, where the holes will be laser cut and the edges bended after.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

What is the kerf width for your laser cut?

There should not be a line between faces as in your image.

You can reduce the kerf if needed.

Oh wow! I was able to do it pretty easily, even though I don't mess with sheet metal much. Did have to throw in two moves of hybrid technique though, to get the tab to stand up even in the folded state. @TheCADWhisperer  did you do it without hybrid?

I used only the Sheet Metal environment in this particular case, no Surfaces or Convert to Sheet Metal.

I didn't use Surface or Conversion... It's just that I had to Extrude/cut away the tab, then re-Extrude/Join it into place again. The initial tab included the bend (and the visible line) and did not stand up in the folded state. In other words, it was part of the sheet and in the folded state it was bent right over along with the rest of the sheet.

 

So I unfolded just that bend, cut away the tab with one Extrude, rebuilt the tab with the same Extrude, and it solved that issue. Basically, it got rid of the bend between the two ends of the kerf, while keeping the bends on the outsides of the tab.

 

I thought this counted as "hybrid" since I didn't strictly complete it only with Flange and/or Bend. Did stay entirely in the Sheet Metal space though, so maybe I'm not using the word appropriately.

In the model before I have used bend function to solve my issue. Can I do the same using flanges, if so, how? I want to do it this way because it is easier to keep overal dimensions that I need, for example 360mm in width as it is now in the file attached.
