Sharing design, ownership and moving to new folder

I am collaborating with another designer in the cloud for a customer of mine.  She initially had the design started with the other designer while I was unavailable on vacation and is asking me to take it over for further development.

The other designer added me to the shared project folder that I am able to see and load files  But I am unable to move or copy the files into any other folder that I control.

If he decided to remove my name from access, I would be unable to edit the design.  It would seem that the software treats the originator of the design as the owner and prevents that design from being copied to another folder by anyone other than the original designer.

That may make sense in most cases, but in this case the design really belongs to our common customer who paid for the time to develop it.

While I can claim some ownership to some extent, I don't like the fact that I cannot keep a copy of the design under my control for the protection of my customer.  The other designer has gone off the grid before and stopped communicating with the customer, so we are both wanting to protect ourselves in case that happens again.

Can anyone explain how "ownership" of the design and the ability of another designer to save to another project is controlled and can we have the original design parameters changed to allow me to save it?  Or is there another workaround?  I have veiwed the tutorials and neither of them seem to address this.

I am a fairly new user so if this is obvious or covered by a tutorial just point me to it.

Just wanted to add on as I am having a similar issue. I started working with a company to switch from Sketchup and Powercad over to Fusion 360. When I started I was using an account that I set up myself. Now that I have a company email, I would like to switch ownership of my projects and files over to my new email so that the files belong to the company and not myself, and as far as I know I am unable to do this. Thank you for your time.

Seems like it is being worked on?

There are some known restriction with distributed designs and the ability to move designs between projects.

For now,  quick and easy work around is to export an archive file from Fusion 360.

After you have the archive file, you can upload it via the data panel to the new project location.

I hope this helps to resolve the issue.

Thanks,
