Sharing a project read-only

I am trying to figure out how as a group we should share projects.

Normally, for text documents that are critical the author would invite the team to comment but not necessarily edit the document - you just want to make sure that changes, intentional or accidental, won't happen unless the author wants them to.

In fusion 360 I understand how to invite someone to your project, but as near as I can understand, if I do a share (rather than creating a copy)  they will see my real-time changes but there is no way I can restrict their participation to view and comment only.

I can't believe I understand this correctly - what am I missing and how do you do it properly?

thanks.

Hello

One way you can share a project for visualization and also notes is the A360 platform inside the platform you can select your desired project for sharing so generate a sharing link where other users can view the project and elaborate analyzes look at the pictures below.

Below is the image where you can select the levels of sharing, after these settings you can make the link to access your project available.

Access to the A360: https://a360.autodesk.com/

I hope this can help you

Greetings!

As near as i can tell the project would be open to anyone with the link if
the link is shared and i dont think it can be scoped as read only for some
people. And i wrong?

When you open the shared link, only a simplified representation is available read-only, with better-looking visuals. One can section the model, hide components, explode it and mark-up (pen, comments etc.), restrict the download of the model etc..

As far as I concluded, the links are for presentation mode only.
This feature is a 5/5 star feature in Fusion 360.

I don't see any way to share a project link in the A360 hub. Only the ability to "invite" people to the project (which gives them read/write access).

What are the steps to give someone readonly access to my entire project (not just a single design)?
