shape optimization local solve

hey guys, when did the ability to local solve shape optimization get removed?

i was explaining it to a friend today and went to show them and got stuck at the cloud only screen.

granted i had not used it in a while....but it wasn't the most taxing of processes locally as opposed to generative.

Through the use of Rhino and grasshopper you produce Shape Optimization (topology optimization) for a 700$ seat of software and it can be run locally. Autodesk's choice to only allow the running this product through the cloud limits it drastically. I paid money for the feature but am stuck waiting for an issue with the cloud to be resolved for the next several hours. The experience has been terrible and I would not recommend it

I don't get it, I pay for this product and they then want to charge me cloud credits to use this feature? is this a joke?

Same here - I just found out that this feature was removed.

I'm severely pissed off that features for paying customers are removed and we're forced into some laggy and slow cloud stuff. Thanks for nothing, Autodesk.

I am not aware of anything having been removed for paying customers - do you have a reference?

If you have access to Autodesk Inventor Professional (students have free access) you can run the Shape Generator locally.

What do you mean?

I used this feature in the past - optimized a bike frame. Now I want to use it again - not working (meaning only working on the cloud). I'd call that 'removing features'. And I'm explicitly unhappy with that.

I've no longer access to inventor. And I'm not planning that. I will however have access to other non Autodesk related CAD tools in the future if Autodesks keeps on crippling their software like that.
