Server Error on searching in project list

Hello

since the April 2022 Update, my search function in the data panel is not working anymore.

The search has no result message, but I get a server error message.

Search term in the screenshot above normaly returns me the location to the file with this string in the name. And yes the file is still in my projects.

One more thing.

Searching with a term that is not contained in my projects, ends in a normal result message.

Is there anybody else with this behaviour of the search function?

Best Regards

Richard

Hi Richard, thanks for reporting this issue. Are you facing this while you are inside a particular project or hub? Can you pls try keeping the search context (use the dropdown arrow on left side of the search bar) as the project where your file is?

Hello Abhinav Singh
when I search in "myhub.autodesk360.com/g/all_projects/active", I also get an error message from the website. A red overlay on the top edge with "Sorry. The operation you requested couldn't be performed." But also here, searching for a string that is nowhere in my files I get a regular result page, that there is nothing to be found. So far the same behaviour as in Fusion 360.

If I keep the search context on a project (not on "All Data") the search works fine.

Best Regards

Richard

Bringing this back up because it's happening to me today and no resolution appears to have been posted for it.

I also get the same error message.      Search works within a given project but not on ALL DATA.

I'm getting the same message when searching in All Data for some words, but no error for other words. Extremely frustrating and making my job difficult.

This still seems to be an issue. I'm having the identical issue when searching "All Data"

I've had this problem for going on a year. Two things to note:

1) If you're able to search online but not in the app, try clearing your local caches. There's a note on that here.

2) If you can't search for certain phrases (online or in the app), but can search for others the problem is likely caused by specific files being incorrectly indexed on their backend. If you can intuit which of these files is the problem, you can sometimes fix search by resaving those files. In my case, it appears to be a hell of a lot of files.

Usually when I bring this up (with support, or ranting about it here) it's met with some kinda of "your call is important to us" / "I'm going to reach out to the team and get back to you" platitude and then quickly ghosted. However, there's a guy working on it now who seems to be taking it a little more seriously, so maybe it will get fixed? Maybe?

search has been quirky for a long time.  I'm rather amazed that this isn't a really high priority to fix.
