Seperate Spline Without Affecting Curve/Shape?

Is there any way I can seperate the curved outline than defines this airfoil, which was sketched using a spline, without affecting the shape/curve?  I'm trying to loft using rails to enforce the leading and trailing edge curves.  Please bear in mind that I will also be attempting to loft/surface the tip.

Thanks

Your file needed a fair bit of restructuring to bring it up to ready to loft.

Lofting rails and profiles - recommend they be in separate sketches,

I found your tip rib was a 3d sketch, and while usable in that format, for Patch loft without rails,

was not usable for rails construction in this case..

I converted back to 2d by adding a line in sketch 1, and plane at angle, redefine sketch plane and realign the sketch.

The top view spline was projected into 3 new sketches, The tip point was Project > Intersect on a plane about where spars will go.

The tippoint sketch has a small line added to be the trim line for the rails.

The new LE and TE rails are projected from sketch 1, then trimmed.

If you wish to better shape the tip loft, add some spline rails to new sketches on the tippoint plane.

Are you happy with the arifoil as it is?, I would not be happy with the 20 - 30% area of that profile.

Dave, thanks very much.  No, I'm not happy with that (my work) front portion of the airfoil.  I imported the airfoil profile from airfoiltools.com dat coordinates, and can clearly see in the loft where it gets lumpy.  This is my 1st experience with any CAD program, so your workflow corrections and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have converted the profile rib to a suitable one. (Sketch 9)

I projected 3 data points from the old rib, top and bottom,

drew a spline for top curve and bottom curve.

Fusion will work better with this one.  Use the lightbulbs to compare and overlay them.  If happy, copy / replace align it into the appropriate sketches.

Thanks again Dave. What you wrote explains the steps well. Was there an intended file? I see you refer to sketch 9...

Thanks
