Selecting objects in the browser

Hello, I have this quick question which bugs me each time I work in F360. When completing any tool's dialog, like selecting body, axis etc, I cannot select objects from the browser, I have to click them directly in the viewport. There is no dimension in the whole time-space where it would make any sense not to use browser to select objects, so where or how can I switch that on, please?:-)

I'm confused by your question- some objects, like bodies, are selectable in the browser from a tool's dialog, but others, like axis, faces, or edges are not in the browser to be selectable. Maybe you can provide a specific example as it seems to me that Fusion's tools do allow you to select from the browser, if that is appropriate for the tool.

I didn't even have to go far, first tool I was using right now. Check the screencast to see what I mean, please.

edit: Ah, this forum is so weird, first I had to wait half an hour for my screencast link being accepted, and it is not visible in the end.:-(( What about this:

You are using a command (Project Curves to Surface), which uses two selections which do not have a browser representation.  This command requires a Face and one or more Curves.  There is no object in the browser to represent a single face, or any sketch curves.  So, yes, this requires selection in the graphics area.  For commands that require selection of objects which do have browser representation (a Body, a Component, a Workplane, etc), selection in the browser is fully supported.  So, it depends on the command being used, and the objects it is looking for.

I see, it makes perfect sense now. It seems I'm selecting bodies much less often than I thought, because I hit this very often but I clearly didn't pay enough attention to what exactly is being asked to be selected. Thank you both.

You are inside the sketch environment, which does change things. If I understand (and I well may not), you are trying to select and project things that are not sketch objects, but bodies. Do I have that right? It seems one would want to distinguish between selecting an entire body, vs. a curve or profile on the body.

You're right about that. There's a coil inside a (hidden in the screencast) tube and via projecting I can get sketch helix curve on the surface of the tube. It's kinda workaround for missing helix sketch in F360. But I have this problem much more often, this was just an example of something I was trying at the time of posting. But, I'm pretty sure if I'm gonna be more careful, I'll soon find out that those cases when I cannot select object from the browser I'm not actually selecting bodies but most often faces, which sometimes can feel as a same thing, especially with rounded objects.

I'm just trying to learn do things right here, to be more effective, so I often ask those little things.
