Selecting geometry on imported moded in CAM environment

Hello,

I have imported model provided by customer. When I work in CAM environment, selection geometry does not work as desired.

I am pressing and holding left mouse button, menu pops up but not what I am expecting (line, profile ....).

It is showed on attached screen shoots what I have got.

Maybe I should somehow process the imported model before doing anything in CAM.

It is strange because sometime I am getting available selection with what I need and sometimes there is no way I can get anything different than what shows attached pictures.

I am working  a lot on imported models from customers  so it is important to me to make it works.

Thanks

Marek

Have you tried Running the Patch > Inspect > Validate command on the imported models to see if there are any geometry errors after importing? Note that the Validate command will only show up when in the Direct modeling environment. If you've enabled the timeline, you will have to edit the Base Feature in the timeline first, before switching to the Patch Environment.

I hope that helps!

Nathan,

I did what as you said but looks like it is the same. Validate does not give any errors with the model.

I have attached my file so you can try. Go to CAM, last operation drilling -> Heights tab -> Top Heigh -> top reference selection and thy to select any geometry on the island in the moddle of the part (edge of the hole etc..)

Thanks

Marek

There is a sketch above the 3d face.  Turn sketch visibility off and you will be able to select the inner face.
