Selecting adjacent edges of a face

Hi there,

Just a quick question:

Is there a way to select all the edges that are directly adjacent to the selected face of a model while in "model" mode?

Have you tried the various options on the Select toolbar?

Thanks for reply @etfrench,

I've been looking for this option in selection module but nothing seems to do exactly that thing. The closest thing is "Select edge priority", but since there is no loop selection option in model mode - its tedious to use.

To be more precise: When I have a very complex face of an object - I want to click on that face and use an option to "Select edges that touch that face".

I don't want this post to stay unsolved. All I need to know is if the thing described by me is doable right now 🙂 If no - I'll just post this in ideastation.

For further clarification: In 3ds Max there was this feature. When You were in Editable poly - "face selection mode" you were able to control+leftclick on "edge selection mode". That transferred all selected faces to adjacent edges (as seen on video bellow (time 8:35)

I'd really like to know this too.  Often draw a shape and want to fillet all, or else I want to copy a sketch that's connected to other things, and have to select every single line individually..... really boring.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Hi, yes I can, export always works with every file. But this thread is about selecting adjacent faces.

So in contrast to export, what I cannot do (or I don't know and therefore ask for enlightenment) is select adjacent faces. Do you have an idea how this would work as expected? Also fine if boundary selction worked (e.g. select all face in a pocket or on a rib)

thanks
