Rounding bug

The video shows a simple move with three decimal place accuracy, but the dimension after the move requires 9 decimal places.  While one could argue that anything after 5 decimal places is irrelevant, Fusion 360 has trouble with intersecting lines and faces at small angles, mirroring closed geometry doesn't always create closed geometry, patterns may fail because of rounding errors (At least, that's why I think they're failing Smiley Tongue)

Hi @etfrench,

Thanks for attaching your file- I opened it and followed the steps in your screencast, but wasn't able to replicate the decimal craziness. Does this happen with other sketches in the same design or with sketches in other designs, or in this sketch only? Also, do you have the Sketch preview turned on?

Attached is the file before the move.  The bug may be related to moving back and forth between metric and imperial.  Sketch and Mesh are turned on in Preview preferences.

Thanks for the additional file, @etfrench. I'm still not able to reproduce it on this one either. Can you try turning off sketch in preview and see if that helps at all?

Also, is this the only sketch this is happening to, or do other sketches have a ton of decimals too?

All sketches have tons (9 to be precise) of decimals when the maximum precision is set in Preferences Smiley Surprised

Turning of Sketch Preview doesn't alter the behaviour.

Have you been able to repro this bug with precision set to max?

@etfrench,

Yes, I was able to reproduce it-- and I found a way to fix it! It looks like the angles for top lines in the sketch were veeeery slightly off. When I set the angle to 90, the sketch behaved like it should. (I had to set the angle precision to max as well to catch it)

Interesting. Little errors are not very obvious in the UI.
