I posted about this issue previously on an existing post and did not get a reply. So, I thought I would post again.

How is the material assiged to the bodies for the Section Analysis?

Everything looks like concreat instead of the materials I have chosen.

I am not sure how I have the green circuit boad. But the other mateials are all blending together, obviously not what I want.

I don't believe there is an option to adjust the appearance of the section. This is a request that has been added to the Ideastation, below.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-ideastation-request-a/improve-section-analysis/idi-p/487605...

The status of the Idea shows as Implemented, but I am not noting an new behavior. I will get some clarification about the status of FUS-12363 and get back to you.

For the green appearance, it looks like that may be a surface body from the screenshot. Is that true? The section behavoir of a surface body vs. a solid body are going to be bit different by default.

Thanks,

I agree about the "concrete" look being very difficult to use. I usually end up cutting away half the model so I can take a look at a cross section with colours. This is a work around, but I feel like a cross section that leaves the materials/colours in place would be much better.

Thank You for checking back in. We have noted the issue is not resolved due to a technical issue, but I do not have an update on the solution, just yet. As soon as I have that information, I will post it here.

Thanks,

Hi,

The current behavior is we use the contour edge and a set of cycling colors to distinguish between the components in section analysis. We have the plan to change the shading for the section view caps from the concrete texture to the hatch pattern with the color from the body material(similar to what you see in A360 detailed 3D view). We will try to get it to be ready in the first half of this year.

Thanks
