Hi Gilberto,

Attached is a screencast that demonstrates how to create a section view of selected components.  Let me know if you need more help.  https://screencast.autodesk.com/Embed/Timeline/c433520c-2005-4027-989a-9984795476fb

Thanks,

Hi Gilberto,

Sorry to hear Section views were difficult to access. Could you tell me where it wasn't working? Just trying to understand if there was a specific part of placing a section we could improve the experience around.

Thanks much!

Scott

Hi Scott,
Thanks for your interest in solveing my problem, but I think it is not a Fusion problem. I think I do an operation wrongly. Step by step can be I make some mistake. In Inventor was very easy to do it, here is a little difficult for me.
Thanks again
Gilberto

Hi Gilberto,

I've just watched Kris's screencast and she does press ENTER on the keyboard after specifying the end point of the section line (at approx. 34sec). I'm not sure if this is the step you are missing, so here are the steps based on the timeline --

1. At 25sec, Kris launches the Section View command.

2. At 27sec, the parent view is selected.

3. At 29sec, a midpoint is acquired by hoverring over the view's geometry. This allows the section line to be drawn along the center of the component.

4. At 31sec, the section line's start point is specified by picking a point.

5. At 33sec, the section line's end point is specified by picking a point.

6. At 34sec, Kris presses ENTER on the keyboard to complete the section line creation. Alternatively, you can right-click and select the Continue option in the marking menu (just like you can in Inventor).

7. At 37sec, the section view preview appears and is attached to the cursor. Depending on the model, it may take a couple of seconds for the preview to appear.

8. At 38sec, the section view's location is specified by picking a point.

9. At 40sec, Kris clicks the OK button in the VIEW PROPERTIES dialog to complete the section view.

10. At 41sec, the section view is complete, hatching is added along with a view label.

I hope this helps, and please let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Gilberto,

Would it be possible for you to share or send me your design?  If you can send it, use Export on the File menu and please send the f3d to christopher.miller@autodesk.com.  Alternately if you can share it I can take a look.  The fact you're not seeing a section view preview when dragging the view down is clearly not correct.  What hardware/OS are you using?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Gilberto -

After watching your screencast it looks as though the feature is not working quite right. Would you mind uninstalling and reinstalling and let me know if it fixes the issue?

   WINDOWS
     Uninstalling

         1. Go to the Start Menu > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.

         2. Select the existing Autodesk Fusion 360 and/or Autodesk Sim 360

entries from the list and start the uninstaller.
         3. Next select AdExDbManager and select Uninstall.
         4. Upon completion of the uninstall program exit Control Panel.

Thanks so much for your time

Hi Scott,

I have allowed these steps, but I haven't solved it the problem. Before of installing fusion, I did a trial with product suite design, and it happens some similar with cad electrical. I am going to uninstall that trial as well, because I get fusion now.

The another idea that chris has sugggested me is to send a f3d for checking

regards and thanks

Thanks for getting back Gilberto. I'll keep trying to figure out why it's behaving that way and look for a solution.

Hi Zdenko,

Sorry you are having issues with Drawings.  In order to help diagnose your issue we would like some more information from you. Can you tell me what platform you are using (ie. Windows, OSX), OS version and hardware configuration?  Also what other Autodesk software do you have installed?  Finally, if you can send me ( kris.berg@autodesk.com) your log files that would also help.  To capture your log files go to the help menu (?) and select "Diagnostic Log Files" from the menu.

Thank you,

Kris Berg

Hi Gilberto,

Yes, please send me your log file (kris.berg@autodesk.com) .  Also let me know what other Autodesk software you have installed.  I can tell from your video you are using Windows.  What version of Windows are you using?  Can you also provide your hardware specifications (RAM and graphics card)?

Thank you,

Kris Berg
