I was working on a drawing today and we wanted to scale it from 10 inches to 5 inches in the Y axis. However I would only scale in the X axis, as the blue arrow was pointing along the X axis, is there a way to do this in the Y axis?

Also was hoping there is a way to stretch images in one direction. Has another student that wanted to stretch their text in the Y axis but not the x axis.

Hi,

It's about the view cube, rotating the view cube will make you scale the sketch along a different axis because the scale blue arrow will keep going to the right

I've made you a screencast, It's uploading

For what ever reason, sketches can only be scaled proportionally.  The work around is to create bodies out of sketch objects, and then scale those (can be surfaces or solid bodies).  bodies can be scaled in a non-uniform way (independently in the x,y, and z axis).  if you need sketch objects, edges from the scaled geometry can be projected back onto a sketch.
