You need to attach your model to your question so others can actually help you. From your question, we have no idea where you are having a problem. Maybe also include a screen capture or screencast.

Thank You,
At present my model is proprietary.
This seems like a reasonable simple question for anyone more skilled than I at this F360cad program.
Thanks for your effort.
Frederick
The answer is also rather simple. Simply select "Save as dxf" after right clicking on a sketch in the Browser.

saving my model as a 2D dxf sketch.
Considering that Fusion is not a simple piece of software, lets start with this.
Your model can be documented in the Drawing Workspace, section views, isometric and orthogonal views, saved as DWG not dxf.
Only a sketch can be taken directly to a dxf file in the current software, last time I looked...
Select your sketch, right click, and Save as Dxf is an option.
Might help....
Thank You,
I went back to my sketch by clicking edit sketch.
Right click on my sketch brings up save as, however I have yet to see any options other than filling paths.
The Export option has multiple choice, and dxf is one of them. So since I am in Edit Sketch mode, exporting from this state should provide a 2D dxf file?
That was both a question and a trying to figure this out comment.
FYI, I went into Design Spark Mechanical, created a simple model, extruded it, and saved it as dxf, sent it to my waterjet resource and it translated perfect, and all in less than a minute. So I could simply rebuild my entire model in DSM, however I am a novice at F360, and a plain beginner at DSM, and its just a matter of efficiency.
Many Thanks,
Frederick
Right click on the sketch that you want to save and click save as dxf, do not edit the sketch, it will not be there.
OK , I right clicked on the Sketch, once I found what and where the "sketch" was, and saved as dxf....
I hope this works,
And thank I thank you very much for your assistance.
This is exactly as I thought, just have to find the door handles, If you know where the door handles are than it is easy.!!
Best,
Frederick
Editing the sketch you want to save out, has to be completed,
Finish the Sketch, then in the Browser and select that sketch, to save it out.
In Fusion we don't need that extrusion you mention, just the sketch, so even quicker here.
Export is for the whole 3d model file, and would not likely be a 2d dxf output that will be compatible elsewhere.
Might be a little clearer.
Might have been a good idea to stick to one thread rather than start this one as well. Other thread here.
Seems the suggestions here assume you have a single sketch with all the info you need and if that's the case Save As DXF when you right click a sketch in the browser should do what you want. If you don't have a single sketch you will need to create a new sketch and project all the info in.
One problem with this is if you're subcontracting the water jet work the sketch will not have any dimensions. Really you should create a 2d drawing and dimension and tolerance. Now you can do this in Fusion but the only export will be a DWG that only AutoCad can open. We've been promised a generic DXF export but development of the 2d drawing workspace makes plate tectonics look speedy.
Personally if I were subbing the work out I'd still create a 2d drawing and send a PDF along with the DXF from a sketch so there are no arguments if the parts are cut at the wrong size.
