When you are asking questions like this, always supply your model so the Forum users can show the process on your model. The video will explain two ways to do this change. I prefer the first method.

I know this is an older post, but it appears that rotating the appearance completely removes the wood look and just turns the grain into lines. The left image is the appearance at default, the right image is rotated. I suppose it still gets the point across, but would really like to have it still look like wood grain if possible.
Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?
Hello there. File is attached. It's a configured model, but I just exported the active config (same one shown in screenshots)
Texture Map Controls seems to work well. Model is attached.
