Trying to rotate a part within a fixture click on part select move select pivot and everthing is greyed out

You'll probably need to attach the file to get a definitive answer (Export as Archive .f3d and attach to message).  I'm guessing you projected a circle onto a sketch that is not in the component to be moved. Try breaking the link on the projected sketch geometry.

Just making a guess, based on others' experiences.  If you are using Set Pivot to change the pivot point/orientation, you have to hit the check mark to finish setting the pivot.  Until you do that, you are still in Set Pivot mode, and the rest of the Move command is not active (you cannot move the selected component).

Thanks that worked the funny thing is when I hit the pivot icon again it became unchecked but hey it worked

That's the way it's designed. The first click makes moving the move/rotation point possible.  Once the new point has been selected, clicking on the icon locks it at the new position.
