Reusing sketch elements

I'd like to create a second sketch for the next component by copy pasting the sketch elements from the first.  I can seem to move anything however without everything falling apart.  I'm simply trying to increase the diameter of a revolved body as can be seen in the screen shot.  Is there some way to do this - easily - or must I construct a completely new set of lines?

I'd like to be able to create sketch profiles that I could easily reuse throughout a design process.  Is that not possible in with the way sketch works?

Yes, it should be possible to do what you want - to copy/paste sketches from one sketch to another.

What seems to be in this shared model is the pasted version?  I'd like to see the source version, and a screencast of what you are doing.  It looks like some geometry is missing from the pasted version (the top dimension doesn't seem to have any geometry on its right hand side.

Put the sketch into a component.

Copy and paste/new the component. Second independent sketch is in the new component.

Is this also the way to get a sketch into another file?  Insert an entire component?

Simple enough I suppose.

Thanks.
