Reusing Parametric Components

Hi there,

Is it possible to reuse parametric components?  If I create a gear component parameterised on its radius, tooth size and thickness, can I then insert multiple of these gears with different parameters to build a gear box?  I know I can insert a parameterised model from another document, but I don't seem to be able to insert multiple, and have the parameters get nested to control each individual component.

Yes, but you need to create additional Parameters such as number of teeth

are you talking about inserting the same design with different parameter values in the same design?  If so, then the answer is "no".  You can't have the same design instanced with different parameter values.  I think what you are interested in is "configurations", where you can define different results from the same design, kind of a "family of parts" design.  This is on our roadmap, but is not currently available.  

Instead, you will have to have multiple copies of the design, and set the different parameters in each copy.
