Retrieving a project after changing computers

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I have recently bought a new desktop and have installed Fusion on the new 1. I'm trying to locate a project that i was working on on my old computer however i cannot find it anywhere. From what i understand all our doccuments are automaticlay saved to the cloud and therefor changing computers shouldnt mean anything. I'm very worried considering there are ALOT of hour invested in this design that has just completly dissappeard.

PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Hello,

I would like to get more information to narrow the issue down:

1. Were you using same account to log in your new computer?

2. You said you cannot find the project. Can you see other projects in data panel? Or can you upload file to your default project? I would know if data panel was working well in your new machine?

3. Please go to https://myhub.autodesk360.com and log in with same account which you used to create your project. Can you find your project and documents in the web page? Please let us know if you cannot find them.

Thanks,

Marshal

Thanks for the prompt reply Marshel,

firstly i have logged onto the hub link that you suggested and i cannot find the project there either.

Secondly, Yes i only have the 1 account so i used it to create my design on the original computer and then tried to retrieve the design on the new computer.

Finaly, I have logged into my account on both the old computer and the new one and the data panal only shows up "nics first project". The new project that i created has completly dissapeared. I have searched both computers for every file asociated with the design and it cannot locate any files from the newly created project (but locates files from the "nics first project" default).

I would like to mention that it i have not been able to locate the file ever since the update.

Let me know what else i can provide. Im getting very worried

Hello,

Thank you for detailed information.

It looked your documents didn't get uploaded to cloud end as you cannot find them in A360 web page. Please check local folder in your old computer and see if you can find local copies of your documents? Those local copies would have extension ".f3d" and contain file name which you defined when you save them.

For Windows: the folder would be like "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\<A360 AccountID>\W.login\F". For MAC, the folde would be like "/Users/<User>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/<A360 AccountID>/W.login/F".

In addition, it would be great if you can post diagnostic data for our analysis. You can launch Fusion in your old computer and go to right-top corner -> Help -> "Diagnostic Log Files" and post them in the thread.

Thanks,

Marshal
