Rendering Locally

This is a bit of a noob question but one I haven't found the answer to in the forums or knowledge center.  I'm pressed for time here so any help asap is appreciated.  I need to produce some renders with custom sizes and transparent backgrounds.  As I know it, this can only be done using the local render option.  I've set everything up and clicked render to produce the local renders and I've now got the below image in my rendering gallery.  My questions are:

1. Once these image captures are made, am I able to continue working on this or other models without it impacting the renders.  I usually don't use local render because in-canvas render is more convenient to my needs.  I know that you can't adjust anything when using in-canvas render or the render process restarts which is why I'm asking this question with regards to local rendering.

2. In the image the thumbnail on the far right has a green bar across it which when hovered over says the estimated time for completion is 4 hours.  This status doesn't seem to be changing.  Does this update to reflect remaining time in a real sense or will it just say 4 hours until it finishes?  My concern here is that I need these renders by the end of the day and if there is some disruption with the render processing and I have no way to see that, I'm going to be screwed.

3. The thumbnails to the left in the image below, are these showing a clock face icon because they are que'd and haven't yet started processing?

Sorry for such simple questions to the forum but I can't find my answers anywhere else and my time is running short.  Is it just me or is the UI for local rendering a bit less than intuitive or insightful?

The render gallery screenshots indicate that you re using cloud rendering, NOT local or in-canvas rendering.

Then its truly broken because I didn't select cloud when I set up the render. LOL.

Just went through the process again.  Definitely not a mis-click of the buttons here.  I made sure that local was selected.  I mean, there's only two options here so it's not hard to get right.  I then clicked render and i produced another thumbnail with the same icon as the others.  So if this icon truly is indicative of a cloud render then it looks like my issue is that local render isn't working at all for me and keeps producing cloud renders instead and against my will.  Anyone from the Fusion team around to look at this?

I was mistaken!

The thumbnails also show up for local rendering. They are not showing up for in-canvas rendering.

I do believe, however, that transparent rendering works for cloud renders. The check fieled for enabling it before rending does only exist when you select local rendering.

However, when cloud rendering in the dialogue that allows you to download an image there is also an option to download it with an alpha channel. I have to experiment with this, but I believe this only works if you turn off the ground plane ( I did this for the image below), because Fusion 360 does not allow render layers. Something like a shadow catcher layer does not exist or is not exposed to the user.

Edit: It does work even with the ground plane turned on. Any rendered shadows on the ground plane are simply ignored in the exported image. Based on another forum thread, however, the transparency cloud rendering does not seem to always work. That certainly sounds like a bug.

Okay, that helps a lot.  Good to know that the cloud render option can produce background-less outputs but it sounds a bit iffy at the same time.  I know these were simple questions but I just needed someone to confirm or deny my suppositions.  Like I said, I have always used in-canvas in the past so although setting up the render was simple enough, I wasn't sure what was going on after that.  Thanks for your help bud.
