Rendering edges are soft

The body in this rendering has very soft edges.  I wonder if it is the material?  I have given the body the material of canvas.   Or could it be the lighting?

So what is the actual question you are asking? Your file would be handy so we can

take a look and see what you have done and try to work out how to "fix" it. The image

is quite small (and I have a 43" monitor). What am I looking at? What is the actual

detail that has a problem?

What I am saying here is we need your file and a better explanation to help you.
