Render floor plane not matching Model Mode

There should be a way to make the Render mode match the floor / ground plan that is in Model Mode

Seems basic?  Am I missing something?

Hi @drew,

Thank you for asking about that.

If you might look for the "Ground Plane"? You can enable it in the "Scene Settings"

Let me know if this was helpful.

Thanks,

what your not understanding is that I want the offset in Model to flow into renderings.  There is no option to adjust the offset of the floor in render mode. and it does not match model mode.

@drew

Your correct the ground plan in the render will not match an offset plane, but as a work around create a small cube that sits on the offset ground plane and the render ground plane will move to the offset ground plane in the render. Not ideal but it works for now.

Hi @drew,

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Yes, I agree with @PhilProcarioJr, that would be a good work around since the offset is not directly available in the Render environment.

Just to check, have you may tried to use the "Position" feature and move the design manually?

Here is a screencast from the workflow I really like to us when working in the Render environment

I hope this helps?

Thanks,

yes thanks this works perfectly for what I am trying to do.. but still feel in future releases if the floor is set in model by defining ground plane offset.. should it not be the same function in the render mode?

Hi @drew,

Thank you for the reply. I´m glad that this was helpful
I agree with you, the ground plane offset should be consistent between the environments.
Just to have the option to break the associativity in case you need to would be a great feature to have.

Thanks,
