Remove Samples and Demo Project

Is there any way to remove the Demo Project as well as the "Samples" from Fusion360? I understand from a first start up point of view how these would be useful, but once you're knees deep in the product it would be really great to get rid of these.

Hi @Anonymous

The samples cannot be deleted.  No sure what you mean by the demo directory.  Do you mean the "my first project"?

Maybe submit it as an idea ("Make the tutorials/demo content removable"), and see if it gets support/traction?

I had to make a new user to see that one.  But it looks like it is locked also.  Not sure the thinking behind that one.

I fully understand the reasoning to have these initially to help new users to get started, but once you get beyond a certain point and want to use the tool more "professionally" its really nice to be able to get rid of some of the clutter in your workflow.

I believe the original thinking on this was to have the samples always available so that users could refresh themselves on areas of the software without having to hunt down a download site with the data and the tutorials. Since they are stored in the cloud they don't take up physical space on your computer and we can easily update them as necessary. The samples area in the data panel is designed in such a way that samples always appear at the bottom of the project list. So as you add more projects they won't be in the way.

Now the Demo project, IMO should be able to be deleted.  I'll look in to that one.

But they take up space ON MY SCREEN and CLUTTER MY VISION with irrelevent material!!!

Likewise the "demo project" shows in the project list, even after I archive it.   It's another thing I do not want to see.

Any progress on this issue? I'm also interested in hiding irrelevant tutorials.

You can always go into your myhub account and archive the project folders you don't want to see any more.

Use the little down arrow icon to the side and click archive.

This does not work. We are talking about removing the "SAMPLES". They do not appear in Myhub

This helped for what I was looking just to archive demo. So my projects are at the top and samples etc below out of the way essentially.

I found the solution to remove the Demo Project folder (as well as any folder). From My Hub, you have to archive the folder and then form the archived folder panel you can delete it forever 🙂

Same here, would be great if you didnt have to see these tutorials everytime you start Fusion.

Three years later, and it still looks like you can not disable / hide this content. I now know the product. I don't need this list, and it looks ugly. Even making it a collapsible list would be better than this.

So, it looks like the only lame duck work around is to create a bunch of empty projects and push it to the bottom. Not even sure if that will work.

Great product. Terrible product design team decision.

You can archive demo content and then delete it if you like. You can not hide the sample content as far as I know. Be aware, when I archived my demo files they dissapeared forever even though I did not delete them. I am waiting for support to get back to me on that issue.

I archived the demo stuff as well. If you then go into the hub/portal, you can permanently delete it from there.

Was not paying close enough attention to see if there was an 'unarchive' or 'restore' menu item. It would be silly if there was not. 🙂  You know, like not being able to turn off NOOB content in the main UI.

THANK YOU! A little annoying I had to archive it through a360.autodesk.com, but I'll take it!

Came here for the same "Samples" area. I have no issue with the samples being there, but what's the reason for not adding the ability to collapse that part? It just adds clutter to the navigation area.

Also, I'd love to create our own tabs in that area. Instead of just "Products" and "Samples", I'd love to have the ability to create my own tabs for quick shortcuts to folders or files I use most often, but I'd happily settle for just the "Samples" tab to go away.
