remove material along an arc

Trying something new to me and stumbling.

In the attached file I have an arc. I need to remove everything from the edge to the arc.

Probably an better way but this is what came to mind at the moment

You can do this with a plane by selecting the inner face of the rectangular opening then use the Split Body tool.  You can either remove or hide the unwanted side.

Or

Draw a boundary around the area to be removed and use the Extrude tool with the Cut option.
