Reference Model?

Good day!

Scenario: Injection molded base 3D modeled as out of the tool (-00 part number). This part is then modified multiple different ways, and assigned different part numbers (-01, -02...)

How do I keep all the base features in the -00 consistent with each modified version? Therefore, if the base model is modified, these modifications follow to each of the subsequent part numbers?

I could do this in Inventor easily with a reference model, but cannot see how Fusion manages this same basic requirement.

Thank you!

Matt

It sounds like you want to use the Derived Component method.  If you derive the original mold into each component, then if you make changes to the original mold, these changes will be migrated to the new components.  For example if you derive mold -00 into component file -01 and then add features to component file -01, they will not appear in mold -00.  But if you open mold -00 and add a tapped hole, for example, that tapped hole will appear in component file -01 when you open and update it.
