Recover Changes to an old version of project

Hello all, I have been working on a project and made some changes and had to revert to an older version (v4), having worked on it for a few hours, as I went to save, it told me I could not as there was a newer file, as I clicked on the warning icon, something happened and it closed the heavily modified v4 file before I could find a way to save it and reverted back(forwards?) to v5 which was now outdated. My question is this: is there any way to recover the changes made to v4 before it shut it down to use the newer (now outdated) v5? I would also like to point out that despite having auto save turned on, there are no recovery documents, presumably since I accidentaly closed the tab rather than it crashing.

TLDR: Made changes to an older version of a project, Fusion restored "newer" version without saving work on old version, can I get changes to older version back?

Try opening the older version, then use Save Copy As to create a new file.  Merging the old with the new will depend on how what was changed.

I know my post does not recover your lost data but next time try out the Save as Latest option available under the File menu.  It has the ability to save your changes to an older version, skipping the changes to the latest version and creating a completely new version.  You have to think about it before committing but is kinda cool!

Hello, @zanderc6PNNS

In addition to the options suggested by our community colleagues, you could also resort to the data panel where you can locate the folder where your project is being saved. for your need, I believe that this can also be a viable solution.
