"Save As and Replace" for internal components

Its the one thing that annoys the heck out of me. If there's an internal component somewhere up your timeline replacing it with an external one means saving it, then manually re-assembling the whole thing because all components that reference it will loose references and will fly all over the place.

"Save and replace" helps with similar swaps for external components. But it's not available for internal ones.

I know other CADs have replace features where you can swap anything for anything. In Creo it opens two parts side by side for you, you go through a list of references matching them between the old and new parts and bingo it swaps out anything.

Also - is there any way to make fusion Upload CAD assemblies as assemblies with external components? Uploading them as internals makes no sense to me at all.

I'd just like to bump this topic too. Being able to "Save as and replace" internal components would be excellent, especially with imported assemblies given multi-file step assemblies don't seem to work.
