"From" Mirror feature disappeared

I just noticed I've lost a sweep that I did earlier in the design.

Strangely the feature created from mirroring the original is still visible.  And, the original appears when I edit the mirror feature.

I've checked to make sure the sweep isn't some how under another parent which isn't visible by making all components and bodies visible, then checking if the sweep is there using section analysis--it is not.

Is this a bug?  Should I create a mirror from the mirrored object, or will that really "ball things up".

When I edit the original sweep feature, it also disappears when I click OK:

hard to say what's going on without looking at the model.  can you export as .f3d and attach?

I don't see an option to export as .f3d. Will .f3z work?

That job (export as .f3z) is running, but taking a while.

I moved ahead since I posted that issue yesterday.  I just deleted the mirror and the original feature, then redid the sweep and mirror.

What I posted was a back-version close to when I posted the issue.

the mirror isn't the problem-

it's the sweep cut you performed on the "lid" component.  it's also cutting the case-

FYI-dealing with .F3z files is considerably more annoying on this end of things than a regular .f3d.  when the question isn't specifically connected to issues of using inserted components, unlinking all the inserted components so you can export as a .f3d will make it more likely someone will look at your model sooner.  that's what happened here.  I didn't initially want to take the time to deal with a .f3z, so I left it on the chance someone else would look at it.  You can undo the link breaks right after you export if you want to keep things linked.

Thank you for the reply!

There was a very similar sweep to cut the case.  Same profile with a slight offset.

But hy would including a cut of the case cause the entire sweep to disappear?  But, the mirror of the same feature being ok.

Yes, I've been told to export to .f3d before.  But, I can find no way to do that.  Can you point me to a URL that explains how to do it?

I also replied to that same comment previously, but wasn't pointed to how to do it.

Next time I'll just say no, I cannot export to .f3d file.

Thanks again!

1.@laughingcreek  pointed out in his post 8.
2. Remove (only for export as f3d) the shortcut (warp symbol) from imported components.

export location and filetype.png
Then you can save the file as f3d locally and attach it to the post.

Thanks for that!

But why would including a cut of the case cause the entire sweep to disappear?  But, the mirror of the same feature being ok.

you should probably go back and re-read  my previous post.   Do you understand what is being shown in the pictures?  The cut sweep is acting on 2 components.  the "lid" AND the "case".   you are literally telling it to remove that feature with the sweep command.  it's not "disappearing".  the last picture in my post tells you how to correct the problem.

Ok, I understand now.

I couldn't export because of the linked components.  I have another open question--I'll go back and export as .f3d after breaking the links.

Thank you!
