"Embeded" countersink and hole offset?

The following part will be screwed under a shelf: the A face will be against the wall, the B face against the shelf. I'll use two screws to screw it from the C face but orthogonally to the B face. I would like to use the hole function to countersink my holes but:

  • if I point to the B face I cannot "drill" the hole in the right direction with an offset
  • if I do it from the C side, the holes won't be orthogonal to the B face
  • if I construct an offset plane parallel to B...the hole is blind with the countersink in the middle of my part 

What am I missing?

 

Create a circle the diameter of the screw head on the offset place and extrude-cut towards C? That's not a very simple solution

I did this by making two holes. The first, from an offset plane, to create a "milled" flat recessed into the angled surface. The second, a countersunk hole created on that flat recessed surface, located in the center of it.

 

It's a small pain, but once you've done it, you can pattern the two holes features together to make a line of them or whatever.

There are ways to get hole to sort of function for this application (use a helper body that is later turned off or extrude a flat to place the hole on), but I think it would be easier to make the hole manually with a revolve feature.  see attached.

I've been playing with it and I believe the best (i.e. quickest) solution is to:

  1. create the hole with the hole function from an offset plane;
  2. extrude (not press pull) the top of the head of the screw to the top of the part.

I've been fighting with this for a while, it seems Fusion detects the location of the object and will not let you flip it after clicking on the plane.  I create the plan by first creating a "Plane at angle" then "Offset plane" high above the part.  Then create a dummy box near the location you want to drill the hole, negative extrude it behind the plane toward the direction you want the drill function to go, then trigger the drill function on it.  This flips the direction of the drill and you can simply drag the drill location over to your part.  I like to create the plane high above the part so I can use the counterbore trait to clearance the hole.

you don't need the dummy body.  you can the hole right on the plane and flip it as needed with the flip toggle-

That button was not in my software, I changed "Distance" to "To" and click around until it flipped.  Then I went back to "distance" and the flip button appeared! Maybe the button was off to the right of my screen? Thanks!
