Project to surface along vector bug

Anonymous

Hello,

I demonstrate here a misleading behaviour of project to surface sketch feature which is likely a bug.
Projecting a curve to a surface along a vector dismisses the choosen vector during the computation stage, while it is working properly during preview.

Can someone confirm this analysis ?

Best regards,

Alain

Confirmed. Now logged as a bug. This seems like a special case. Project to surface with vector doesn't always fail, so not a general issue. We will investigate, but if you have any other information to help figure out why this is a special case (or if it's more common than it looks), please post it so we can add it to the bug report.

Thanks!

The bug occured for me on all the geometries I tried from a plane to a surface obtained through sweep or a loft.

In all cases, the preview worked.

In some case (I updated the sketch to show this) it did compute and display a curve but then a warning appeared in it was never able to update the projected line again.

In the loft case the preview and computation look correct, but a there is a warning  and it won't update.

All cases in this sketch : http://a360.co/2jBKVpG

Alain
