What tools are you using for project management outside of Fusion 360?

We're getting ready to start using Fusion 360, but are also looking for a tool that might work well with Fusion 360 for general project management and project development work. Is there such a thing that integrates well with Fusion 360 at a reasonable [for a startup] price?

I'm picturing capabilities like:

  • Project documentation
  • Task assignment and tracking
  • Scheduling
  • Research documentation
  • Project and task prioritization
  • Team communication

We've been considering things like MS Sharepoint+Teams, Atlassian Confluence+Jira, and others, but I'm looking for any possible advice from people using these tools or other tools for the above purposes.

Thank you, Chris

I use OmniPlan (in the Mac) for general project management. It doesn't integrate with Fusion in any particular way, but for now it meets my needs. Right now we are just on the design and prototyping side, though may move to manufacturing and have different needs later this year.

However, you may want to check out a recorded AU session I attended where Brett Cottle describes "The Road to Agile Manufacturing With the Help of Fusion 360". I thought it was an excellent session, and he describes a number of external software tools that integrate into their workflow.

Thank you for the suggestion. I watched the presentation and it seemed like a valuable example.

In the presentation, they were most recently using Trillo (Board and card based organization that facilitates Kanban methodology), they had previously used Asana and Monday (but were no longer doing so), and were currently using and developing an in-house system that replaced the use of Trillo and some other components in their process.

I was a little surprised that they chose Trillo over Asana and Monday (Asana and Monday both have much larger feature sets and project management tools), but perhaps they were not looking for project management?

OmniPlan looks interesting, but we don't happen to have any Apple devices.

I'll keep looking, and I remain interested to hear what others might do.
