Problem with Snapshot - Lost Sketch and Extrude After Supressing

This issue is probably drivenly most by lack of understanding of who the Snapshot function works.  I have an assembly with multiple moving joints all defined by joints.  I wanted to create a sketch using the silouhette profile of a component in the assembly when it was in a particular displaced position with the joint systems normal range of motion.  I moved the assembly to this position and took a Snapshot.  I created the sketch followed by and extrude cut and had the results I wanted.  When I supressed the Snapshot from the time line I lost the extrude cut.  I then unsuppressed the snap shot and the extrude as well as the sketch were not recovered 😞

So it would seem that if you create design features in a "snapshot" position that snapshot must stay in the time line indefinitely or the features are lost?

Hi There,

I just tried to create a joint between two components, and move one to add Snapshot, then add the sketch, extrude cut, suppress the Snapshot, unsupress it.

But the result is good, haven't met the issue you mentioned.

Seems a model specific issue, could you attach your model here? Or just send me a mail to analyze it.

Thanks.
