Problem launching Fusion 360

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I've installed Fusion 360 today and did a little test project then logged out.

I tried to uninstall the program from the computer using the Programs & applications manager of Windows and the uninstall failed and I received a prompt to attach a certain file which I provide with this post. (At least I think this was the file demanded...)

Now, when I launch Fusion 360, the program starts up but I get no access to my account in the program (i.e. I don't have the page with my projects, versions, rendering, etc.)

I just have a blank page with the address "https://accounts.autodesk..." the rest doesn't show.
And on the blank page there is a line: xoauth_problem=parameter_rejected&xoauth_parameters_absent=oauth_redirect_url&oauth_error_message=Invalid+value+for+parameter%3aoauth_redirect_url

I tried to reinstall the program to see if it would repair the problem but it doesn't.

So now I can't use nor uninstall Fusion 360. :'(

I'm using Win 7 64bit.

Any help/advice on how to proceed to regain access to Fusion 360 would be great (short from reinstalling Windows if possible ^^)

Hi Julio,

It appears that the installer is trying to get a version of the software internal to autodesk, and is failing.  Please make sure that you are getting a fresh downloader from http://www.appstreaming.autodesk.com/install/app/c102a1c1ea954675b57613e47f5e7631/ and let us know if you continue to have problems.

Thanks,

Steven

Thank you for the quick answer.

I downloaded and installed CAM 360. So far, so good, it works !

Being pretty new to the Autodesk brand, I would like to know if CAM 360 is the same thing as Fusion 360 or is it part of Fusion 360... ?

My mistake.  Though Fusion 360 and CAM 360 interoperate and share some functionality, they are not the same product.

Please see the corrected URL:  http://www.appstreaming.autodesk.com/install/app/73e72ada57b7480280f7a6f4a289729f/

Thanks Again,

Steven

So, I re-downloaded the Fusion 360 installer using your link and launched it. It says that I have the latest version of Fusion 360 installed.
Eventhough I still have that message when I start Fusion 360:

"xoauth_problem=parameter_rejected&xoauth_parameters_absent=oauth_redirect_url&oauth_error_message=Invalid+value+for+parameter%3aoauth_redirect_url"

CAM 360 starts up fine and logs me in without problem.

OK. Please try to clean up the existing Fusion 360 installation and re-installing opening a command prompt, changing to the directory which contains the downloader and executing these three commands:

> "Fusion 360 Client Downloader.exe" -p uninstall
> "Fusion 360 Client Downloader.exe" -rp uninstalll
> "Fusion 360 Client Downloader.exe"

Note: The ">" character is not an actual part of the command

Thanks,

I will try this asap.

As I mentioned earlier, I cannot uninstall Fusion 360 using the standard Windows way (i.e. via the Program & Application menu). When I try it gives an "Unexpected Error" asking me to attach the [...]\autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log which I attached with the original post.

Should I try to directly delete any directory and/or files pertaining to Fusion 360 and then try to re-install like you suggested?

Oh that's right. Please forgive me for forgetting that.

The procedure I provided will not help, and unfortunately the log file did not provide enough information to tell me WHY the operation that failed, failed. If you delete the Fusion 360 shortcuts on your desktop and in your start menu (or make sure they are writable), it might get us around this.

Even if it doesn't you can forcibly remove [nearly] everything that fusion and sim install by deleting the folder "%LOCALAPPDATA%\autodesk\webdeploy" (Just type that in to the windows explorer address bar).

You might then have to search around to delete stuff like application shortcuts and manually remove the entries in Programs and Features (requires mucking about in the registry: it's not pretty), but if you re-install the applications then all this will be hooked back up and future uninstalls should at least try to remove them again.

Thanks, and again sorry for overlooking the reported history.

No problem, I appreciate the help you're providing 🙂

I will go fiddle with the deleting and re-install, etc. and I will report back how it goes.

Hopefully everything will get back the way it should. ^^

Alright.

So I manually delete Fusion 360.

Re-installed it just using the Client Downloader.

It seems to work normally. I'm logged in and have access to the previous design I started.

I won't try to un-install it to see if the un-install works.

Thank you for the assistance Svelez ! 🙂
