Problem inserting part from partcommunity companies.

I am having a problem at the very end of the part insertion process. I reach a screen with the part I've selected, and when I click "To Autodesk Fusion 360", a CAD file is created (I chose .step). However, at that point the download seems to be assigned to the wrong app, and I cannot seem to change it.

It may be not a Fusion issue at all: I don't seem to be able to get .step assigned to either Fusion 360, or one of my other 3D programs such as eDrawings.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Bob

What you can do to get you part and test the ability of Fusion 360 is go to the Parts Community website, log in with your Autodesk ID and password and download the file you need in whatever format you desire to your hard drive.  Then you can open it in Fusion 360 using the internal controls.

Many thanks indeed. I've no idea just why the method listed under "Insert" stalled out, but your method seems to work perfectly well. The .stp model is sent to my download folder, and it all works well from there.
