Precise Coordinates - How?

I am just starting with a simple example, which is a 40mm x 70 mm board with a thickness of 1.5mm. I created a box in the model workspace. Now I want to add two holes to this board. Sounds pretty simple, doesn't it? But I am failing to define the coordinates of the holes. I can define the diameter, yes, but I have no idea how to define precisely the location of the holes.

I am able to make a little sketch in the xz plane, where the locations are intersections of two lines and I additionally added a point to this intersection.

How do I create a hole in my board exactly where I want it to be? Why does the hole not snap to the elements of the sketch?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi rishivadher,

thank you for providing the video. It showed clearly how to click to a line to get the dialog for the distance from the hole to this selected line during the creation of a hole. Exactly this feature I was not aware of. Now I can create holes at the precise location I want them to be. Thanks!

BTW: Is there a similiar trick to use existing lines to place a hole during a move?

Hey Tom,

See the post from schneik HERE.

Basically, use move with the "Re-anchor" option to change the position off of a face.

You can pick sketch points instead of a face to use sketch objects.
