Post extrusion lines and object faces still present

Hi there,

I am quite new to fusion 360 and am currently stuck.  I've extruded (cut) and also extruded (join) parts for my object.  After these actions, I can still see the old object and object faces and lines.  I am not too sure how to get rid of them.  If I delete the line or old face, the entire object is deleted.  I've included a screenshot below:

The blue line is a joined extrusion while the purple line is what I cut.  I also added a fillet but i'm not sure why the angled face still pops up.  I've also included my file.  Any help would be much appreciated!

What you can do is Manually Hide the Sketch from Here...👇

And your Sketch gets Hidden. And you an continue to do your work without the sketch interfering..
