[POSSIBLE BUG] - Create new drawing - 2.0.16.33

In my model - a wooden box - made of components and joints, seems not possible to insert any assembly or component into a new drawing.

Following the command rightclick -> "Create new drawing" on the whole assembly or on a component, a "new drawing" is generated in a new tab, but the assembly/component do not show up.

It is shown an error stating Unknown command: "00000000,0.00000000,1.0000000,0".

Please find enclosed the actual drawing for your own testing.

Hi,

Now that I know what's causing the problem, I will uninstall trial of Inventor to get full Fusion 360 functionality. Or, in worst case, clean install Windows.

Thank you for pointing the cause of this issue.

We actually prefer Fusion over Inventor at work. In our case it only lacks sheet metal, so I hope to see this feature in some near future :).

Thanks again, Piotr.

Hello

I am also seeing this bug with creating drawings. ("unknown command" after create drawing)

I am running Windows 10, and never tested this on Win 7 prior to updating my O/S so I cant speak for it being an O/S update that caused it.

I have updated Fusion 360 whenever it wanted to update.

Its the first time I have attempted to create a drawing.

I have been using fusion a lot for cad and cam and my most recent issue I had was with the graphics driver when I updated to Windows 10.

That bug was the black screen in the data panel bug resolved with a re-install of the graphics driver.

Can somebody confirm that Windoes 10 is supported and works. Here's hoping I did not update and hurt myself here because I cannot go back.

So far for Cad and Cam, it appears to be working fine.

Hi lobe360,

Sorry to hear you're having this issue, yes Windows 10 is supported for drawings.  Do you have any other Autodesk products (like Inventor) installed side-by-side?  Just to clarify, you had Fusion installed on your (Win 7) system then you upgraded to Win10?  Was this a new install of Fusion or has your existing installation been updated?  Just checking you're seeing the same behavior > Create a new drawing and the blank sheet (with titleblock and border) appear in a new tab, but you're unable to create views?

Thanks,

Chris

Hello

I did completely remove and reinstall fusion360 to see if that would address this but it did not.
I get the drawing window and mouse moves but nothing after the "unknown error" shows up.

On my small Windows laptop, Running Windows 7, I installed fusion360 and I was able to create a drawing.

Everything else on my Windows 10 platform is working besides drawings.

That system has no other Autodesk products ever installed.

Thanks
Laurence

Hello Chris

For sanity check I installed a Windows10 Vm and tested this.

I was able to create the drawings with no issues.

It works fine on Windows 10 on the VM with the same design, so its something with my Windows10 Laptop.

I will figure something out to reinstall it, but if I can help to debug before I do that let me know.

Thanks

Laurence

Hi Laurence,

Thank you for the information and for verifying on the VM, it sounds like something didn' quite go right during the last update.  We've identified a few possible causes of this and are working on getting this fixed before the next update.  Before you uninstall can you expand the Help menu (upper right corner) > Diagnostic Log Files and then send them to me (christopher dot miller at autodesk dot com).

There are some files left behind after an uninstall, so I'd recommend following the full uninstall instructions in the Readmehttp://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-and-documentation/fusion-360-readme/td-p/4311780

Then you can reinstall from herehttp://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview .

Thanks,
Chris
