Is it possible to export point coordinates from the sketcher to an external text file?

For example to use with a beam calculator program outside Fusion.

There is no built-in way to do this.  You could probably write an add-in to do this, but there are some complexities to it, such as what to do with arcs or splines.

Ok, thanks anyway. I realise the complexity with arcs and splines but could be solved (sufficiently) by manually placing out points along the lines in the sketcher.

Could perhaps be a future improvement request.
