placing a hole (or other feature) at the center of a box (or any face)

i want to place a hole at the center of a box. the hole will jump to the center and ends of edges but not the center of the face?

Create a line from the center of one edge to the parallel side.  Then right click and make it construction geometry.  Finally use the circle command and place at the center of the line.

i also noticed that even if you place two lines the intersection is a selectable point when placing a hole in the model mode. This has answered other placement questions i had. thank you

There is another way to place a hole to face center: press mouse left button on hole center (the cursor become grasping gesture), then you will see a white point at the face center, drag hole to snap to the point.
