I am creating a pipe and the preview looks like this (which is what I want):

Ashampoo_Snap_Monday, December 9, 2019_11h59m51s_001_.png

When I click OK this is what I get:Ashampoo_Snap_Monday, December 9, 2019_12h00m19s_002_.png

I don't understand why the triangle turns/changes shape (whichever it is doing)?

Sweep - or Pipe command?

Sweep needs you to make the Triangle in a sketch,

Pipe command has no control for the triangle - roll angle, it is default to place the vertical leg on the path.

Might help....

Oops, you are right. I couldn't figure out the sweep command so I switched to pipe -- and promptly forgot. I will edit the title of my post.

I find it curious that that the preview is not accurate for the final result. Plus having no angle choice makes anything other than a round cross section marginally useful. I suppose I'll have to go back to figuring out how to use sweep.

Sweep is far more versatile.

As a beginner, you have the path, the sketch should be (normal) square to the path and the path (and rails) should Intersect the sketch.

Basically you can draw any triangle as a cross section sketch, for the end result.

This is another instance where the preview fails to show what the real result is going to look like 😕
