What are some of the modifying commands I need to study in order to gain control of the fit up of miter joints on pipe. I just draw line sketches off of various planes and hit pipe and get random joint fit ups, I need to be able to configure accordingly to my needs as to pipe joint question.pnghow the joint should fit up

Hi,

You need components for joints.
So every piece of pipe is a component.
Here is an example of a mitre joint.

mitered pipemitered pipe
You mark the section plane and fix it by pressing and holding Ctrl. Then you select the connection point of the first component. The same applies to the second pipe.

Let me know if this works, I also had another question about 3d sketching as you will see my I am trying to connect one sketch from one plane to another plane by placing points. Thank you for any help man, this is going to be a part of my business plan for funding and I have a meeting coming up in a few weeks, Much gratitude

The edges need to be mitered as @g-andresen has shown. Also, where the two pipes need to be joined, they are all one body. I would go back and make them two separate bodies then change them to components. If you don't you won't be able to join them.

How will the pipes ends be cut on the shop floor?

Whats the easiest way to miter pipe? I normally would draw a line and then create a plane at an angle on the line then split bodies and remove the un-needed section

So it would be best to create each piece of pipe as it own component, or should they all be made from the same body

I was asking how it will be done on the shop floor - that is what I use to guide my modeling process.

Will those ends be cut with a hacksaw and hand ground for fitting

or

will they be turning in a workholding device while cut with a laser (or other device)?

Do you have a link to a YouTube Video of the manufacturing process that you will use?
