I have designed a drill press centering jig, based on designs I have seen elsewhere. I have used a triangle to create an alignment aid on each side of the origin in the jig. That works fine. However, I would like to pattern this line on both faces of the jig, in each direction, over the length of the jig, at 1/4" intervals. This will provide a little additional help aligning the work.
I have tried doing this multiple times, and Fusion is either selecting too much (i.e., more than just the tiny triangular faces) or cutting too far (through the bottom of the model). I had no problem patterning bodies, which is how I made the triangular supports for the two 45º angle planes that hold the work. However, attempting to use the two notch faces that result from cutting the support with the little triangle ends up "secretly" selecting a lot more, and when I complete the pattern, half of my model is eaten away.
In an earlier attempt at this I used a circle instead of a triangle, and that patterned the notch just fine, but no matter what I tried, the pattern went to negative infinity, resulting in small circular holes in the bottom of my model.
I've attached the f3d file of my project. I suspect that the problem is either how I drew my triangle; how I extruded (cut) using that triangle; or in the selections I am making with the patterning tool.
Any hints or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
