Pattern on spiral path

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there is a way to pattern faces/features as on the picture attached?

Every time I try to do so, it doesn't work, does not keep tangency to the profile.....

I have read many posts that suggest to play with starting point, still no luck.

The model on the picture was done in solidworks,

Thank you allCaptur1e.JPG

No, pattern on a spiral path does not work in Fusion, all of the profiles point to the origin instead of staying perpendicular to the surface. You can hack it by converting the coil to sheet metal, unfolding it, using pattern along path and then refold.

Hi Fellows,

Yes It is possible.

Look in the attached file (the modified original).

Just:

- create surface body

- thicken it

That ALL.

Also you can perform the trick earlier in the design process if desired.

No, it is not possible, all you did was turn the sheet metal body into a solid. Pattern along a spiral path does not work on a surface either.

Here is another way to make spiral holes but it is tedious.
