hide model from simulation but get error about the hidden model

Hi,

I have a big assembly and only want to simulate two of the components. The tutorial on simulation said enter simulation workspace then hiding other components is a valid method for preventing other components from being simulated. However, I was still prompted by error messages to enter material properties for ALL of the components in the assembly, not only the ones that are visible. How do I only simulate two components? Simplify?

Simplify is your answer.  Go to Simplify>Select the two components you want to simulate>Right-click>choose "Remove all except selected">Finish Simplify

The Remove command in Simplify creates Remove features in the timeline to remove bodies and components from the simulation.  This is similar to the old function of "Suppress", but we now use "Remove". If you want to bring them back just delete the Remove feature from the timeline.

Hiding bodies and components doesn't remove them from the simulation so the solver still recognizes them.
