pattern on path, but stick to surface?

Hi,
I have a question how to achieve the following;

I want to add a row of nails on a organic surface following a path (like nails along a panel edge)
I tried positioning two nails (one on each side of the path) and create a "pattern on a path".
At the beginning of the path is looks ok, but along the path, the nails are disappearing into the surface.

Is there a way to constrain the nails to the surface of the organic body?

thanks

Please share your model. Export it as a .f3d file and attach it to your next post.

You have to create an new path for each row of nails and make sure the origin of each nail coincides wth the path.

That is what I thought, but this is a body object and not a t-spline object.

is it possible to do a 3d sketch constraining to the body surface?

The only way I found is to create 3d sketched splines and project these to the surface. Then use these paths to generate the nails.
A bit cumbersome.

It would be nice to be able to extract a selected spline from a surface into a spline. object
