I have motion linked a slider joint to a revolute joint. The slider joint travels a total distance of 11 inches, and the revolute joint rotates a total of 90 degrees. The revolute joint is for a door flap that has a closed position at 0 degrees, and rotates 90 degrees to an open position at 90 degrees. The slider joint is for a shelf that has a retracted position at 0 inches, and slides out to an extended position at 11 inches.
I want the revolute joint to rotate its entire 90 degrees (and therefore for the door flap to fully open) during the first two inches of movement of the slider joint. After that, as the slider joint continues to move beyond 2 inches (i.e. as the shelf continues to be pulled out) and out to its total limit of 11 inches, I want the revolute joint to no longer rotate, and instead to remain fixed in the 90 degree open position. When the shelf is pushed back in, the slider joint (i.e. the door flap) should remain fixed in the open position as the slider joint is moved from the 11 inch position to the 2 inch position, and at that point the revolute joint should rotate from the 90 degree open position to the 0 degree closed position as the slider joint is moved from the 2 inch position to the 0 inch position.
Is this possible? Right now the revolute joint is rotating during the entire time that the slider joint is sliding, rather than only during the first 2 inches of the slider joint's 11 inches of movement.
I have tried setting a limit on the revolute joint so that it can't rotate past 90 degrees, but doing this just causes the slider joint to lock up when it reaches the 2 inch point.
So, is it possible to have a motion link where the revolute joint rotates during only part of the slider joint's movement, rather than during the entirety of the slider joint's movement?
